"Superstition" is one of the brightest satirical novels in Ukrainian literature, permeated with sharp humor and irony. A whole palette of comic characters appears in this work. It is not for nothing that the famous ethnographer Volodymyr Hnatiuk, after reading "Superstition", told Martovych: "You have assembled a unique collection of fools who, according to the proverb, can exist separately, but never together." In this world of absurdity, which was so successfully embodied by the writer, there are no positive characters, because each of them hides their secrets, and each, although not without talent, is comical.
The most important thing is that the story remains relevant even in the modern world, as the reader can recognize modern funny figures in many of the characters. In addition, the book also contains the short stories "Man's Death" and "The Sinner".
