Slanted 41 - Amsterdam

The Slanted team traveled to Amsterdam to explore the local design scene and fell in love with the charm of the city’s traditional “brown cafes” (bruine kroegen), which have existed in the city for over a century. After long bike rides through the studios, they would find refuge in these cozy establishments with dark wooden interiors, vintage decor, and the aroma of fried croquettes.

We are excited to announce the release of Slanted Magazine #41—Amsterdam!

In the capital of the Netherlands, design plays an important role, combining aesthetics with functionality. Here, it is created not only for the elite, but also for everyone: from street signs and public transport to parking bollards and police cars. Amsterdam captivates with its palette - orange is brighter here, red is more saturated, and black is truly powerful. In this city, design lives and breathes, it is bold, innovative and full of humor.

The 41st issue of Slanted brings together work and interviews from leading Amsterdam designers, revealing their perspectives on contemporary design. In addition to articles and illustrations, the publication includes an appendix with useful information, an overview of current Dutch fonts, and thematic video interviews.

In addition to the magazine, two limited special editions were released:
🔸 Black longsleeve with a design by Vera van de Seip, screen-printed in fluorescent green (100 copies).
🔸 A set with thermal transfer printing that allows you to create your own unique designs.
