In their work, writer Hilde Estby and neuropsychologist Ulva Estby invite us to a journey into the depths of the human brain, where we try to unravel the greatest mysteries of memory. Can we completely rely on our memories? Is it possible to live without them? How does the process of remembering change with growth? How to cope with traumatic experiences? Why don't we remember everything, and what is the purpose of our memory?

Among others, the heroes of the book are an opera singer, a blogger, a former investigator, a taxi driver, a victim of a terrorist attack on Utoya, a group of ten divers, an architect, climatologists, brain researchers, a writer and four grandmasters, as well as people who have lost their memory for various reasons. Do they have difficulties with the formation of memories.

The authors share their own experience with Sister Tonier, experiment with their own publisher, and themselves embark on a project to carefully remember one hundred days of their lives — all in order to solve the eternal mystery of our memory.
