"Crucifixion and death are often evidence of the weakness of those who crucify, and, conversely, the confirmation and ultimate victory of the crucified."

These words from the nursery tale "Rozgrom" can be taken as an epigraph to all four of his works: the story "A Man Runs over the Abyss", the play "Morituri", "Rozgrom" and "General", which are collected in the third book of Ivan Bagryany in series "Classics of Ukrainian fiction", which is being published "Apriori" publishing house. These works are about the events of the Second World War, but they are extremely relevant even today, reflecting modern times. Speaking about the enemies of Ukraine - both German and Russian fascists - as well as about her people, the main character of "Rozgrom" Olga says: "They want to inject themselves with the elixir of life at our expense, at the expense of the young, but what historically has already to be a corpse, no elixir will save. They are going down the steep road to the top. We can be stopped temporarily, but we can never be destroyed. We can be terrorized.

This book is very important right now, when our enemies, both foreign and our own, are again trying to crucify Ukraine.
