Not to get confused when you see a wine list in a restaurant, to skillfully choose a wine that tastes good with a certain dish, and to distinguish between an expensive drink and a cheap fake - such skills are simply mandatory for wine lovers. But how to learn this, when sommeliers - the greatest connoisseurs of all wine wisdom - operate with completely incomprehensible words, and some questions seem awkward to ask them: for example, how is sparkling wine made and what is rosé wine?

This book will be useful for gourmets who want to know which wine from which region they might like and why most people do not store it properly. And you will no longer get lost in the store, choosing between Chenin Blanc and Montepulciano.

About the authors:

Grant Reynolds is a renowned sommelier who was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2017 and Wine & Spirits Best New Sommelier in 2013. Wrote about wine for Vanity Fair. Owner of Parcelle Wine Shop, partner of Delicious Hospitality Group, and responsible for the wine list at Charlie Bird, one of the best wine restaurants in the US.

Chris Stang is the co-founder and CEO of the gastronomic project The Infatuation. In 2015, his humorous review of a fictional restaurant was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award. In 2019, the Financial Times magazine named Stang "probably America's most influential restaurant columnist". Before connecting life with the subject of food, he was vice president of marketing for the Atlantic Records label.

Reviews:

"Wine connoisseurs Grant Reynolds and Chris Stang break down the confusing terms sommeliers use into common words you can use in conversation with friends so you can buy wine like a pro." - Martha Stewart, famous TV presenter and writer
