This edition collects the three most famous treatises of the great Roman philosopher, orator, writer and statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero (106–43 BC): "On Laws", "On the State" and "On the Nature of the Gods". Cicero's ideas about the state, the role of language in nation-building, civic responsibility and human nature remain relevant even today, especially for Ukrainian society.
Cicero's contribution to the theory and practice of eloquence and philosophy is extremely large. The Renaissance was the heyday of Ciceronianism, and the Enlightenment also owes much to the Roman philosopher and orator. The style of his letters was mirrored by Madame de Sevigny, Montesquieu, Laclos and others. Cicero's work was also gratefully studied by Hume, Locke, Voltaire, Diderot and other prominent philosophers.
