The book The Road to Slavery by Friedrich Hayek examines why the worst candidates come to power. The author talks about how collectivism leads to slavery and denial of economic freedom. It is a tableau for Margaret Thatcher, who reread it more than once, and it remains relevant for Ukrainian society as well. Hayek analyzes the connection between economic processes and totalitarianism, examines the history of Germany, Italy and the USSR, and also explains why anti-Semitism and disarmament are similar in essence. The book also contains lessons that Ukrainians must learn in order to avoid the mistakes of the past, protect their freedom, and develop their economy.

This is the first complete edition of "The Road to Slavery" in the Ukrainian language. The book is primarily intended for political and public figures, social scientists and philosophers, as well as for everyone who is interested in the path to freedom, political pluralism and democracy.

Friedrich Hayek (1899-1992) was an Austrian economist, political philosopher and critic of socialism. He received the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1974 and wrote 18 scientific papers that influenced the politics of the 20th century, including the principles of Thatcherism and Reaganomics.
