About the book "After the war. History of Europe since 1945"

Tony Judt devoted ten years to researching the history of post-war Europe, studying sources in six languages and covering the histories of 34 countries. The result of his work was a book of more than 900 pages, which became the largest study of Europe after the Second World War. Judt carefully analyzes how the war changed the continent geographically, politically, economically and intellectually, and how these transformations affected the formation of European countries during 60 years of peace. It also focuses on both Western and Eastern Europe, covering the history of not only the great powers such as Germany, Great Britain and France, but also lesser-known countries.

The translation of the book "After the war. The history of Europe since 1945" won the UNESCO City of Literature Lviv Prize.
