Mort

The novel "Mort" by Terry Pratchett opens the cycle of the "Diskworld" series, in which Death is the main character. However, this does not mean that the book is creepy or terrifying. In Pratchett's world, Death not only fulfills its obligatory function, but also feels emotions, has its preferences and passions.

He fishes, philosophizes, loves kittens and delicious food. He also dreams of a vacation, and when it's time to rest, he chooses the country boy Mort as his apprentice.
