Lucius Annaeus Seneca (ca. 4 BC - AD 65) was an outstanding Roman philosopher and writer known as a representative of Stoicism. In his "Moral Letters to Lucilius" there are appeals to live in harmony with nature, to withstand the blows of fate and to constantly raise the spiritual level. Philosophical and ethical views expressed in these "Letters" influenced the development of Christian ideology.
