This book is about teenagers, about the growing pre-war pro-Nazi German youth, for whom the concepts of justice, honesty and truth are completely distorted and completely distorted. These young people are blinded by "Nazi ideas" and do not realize that they pose a threat to the environment and to humanity as a whole. Their parents are also complicit in this – they are easily influenced, allowing the Nazi dictatorship to take over their thoughts, outlook and beliefs.

However, there is a confrontation in the novel. The climax is the murder of one student of another, as well as the accusation of a third person. The teacher, who, considering his silence, is also guilty of the student's death, nevertheless decides to speak out and defend the truth. He understands that life without truth has no meaning.

God in Odion von Horwath's novel is the personification of truth, justice and tolerant attitude towards others. The Nazi youth grew up and lived without the truth, allowing themselves to be blinded by the lies and deceptions of the National Socialist propaganda blaring loudly from the radio, the main mass media at the time.
