Odion von Horvat (1901–1938)- Austrian writer and playwright of Hungarian origin, known for his works that criticize the society and political situation of interwar Europe. Born in Fiume (now Rijeka, Croatia), he spent most of his life in Germany and Austria. Horvat wrote both novels and dramas, which are distinguished by social acuteness and irony. His most famous works, such as "Aunt Friederike" and "Youth without God", deal with the themes of human indifference, moral degradation and the consequences of authoritarianism. Died in Paris as a result of an accident.
