Martin Pollack- Austrian writer, journalist, translator and reporter, known for his works on the history of Central-Eastern Europe, particularly its tragic pages. Born in 1944 in Bad Gastein, Austria. For many years he worked as a journalist, in particular as a correspondent in Poland, which influenced his interest in regional history. Pollack writes about complex issues of war, borders, and identity, often touching on the Holocaust and political repression. Among his famous works are "The Dead Man in the Bunker" and "The Emperor of America", where the author explores the themes of emigration, human tragedies and historical memory.
