Lucretius Car Titus (c. 99 - 55 BC)- an ancient Roman poet and philosopher, known for his epic poem "On the Nature of Things" (lat.De Rerum Natura), which is one of the main sources for studying Epicurean philosophy. In his poem, Lucretius explains the nature of the world from a materialistic perspective, focusing on the atomistic structure of matter, human nature, and the cosmos. His work influenced the development of science and philosophy during the Renaissance.
