Bertolt Brecht

Bertolt Brecht— a German writer, poet, playwright and theater theorist, known as one of the most outstanding representatives of modernism. Born in Augsburg in 1898, Brecht became one of the main reformers of the 20th century theater art, developing his own concept of epic theater that emphasized social engagement and detached storytelling. His dramaturgy addresses current social and political topics, calling on the audience not only to empathize, but also to critically analyze what they see.
Among Brecht's most famous works are the plays "Mother Courage and her Children", "The Good Man of Sezuan", "The Life of Galileo". His works influenced the development of world theater, laying the foundations for an innovative approach to art where social content and ethical dilemmas play a major role.
Bertolt Brecht's work remains popular today, and his drama, poetry and prose inspire a rethinking of traditional ideas about art and society.
