Olena Paryniuk

Olena Paryniuk is a leading researcher in the field of radiation biology and ecology. Her scientific interests focus on studying the impact of microorganisms on the migration of radionuclides in the environment, the structure of microbial communities in soil at high doses of radiation, as well as on biocorrosion and bioleaching in destroyed nuclear power units. Olena is a senior researcher at the Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where she is actively involved in the development and revision of nuclear and radiation safety standards, taking into account the consequences of Russia's armed aggression against Ukrainian nuclear facilities. She is a co-author of the book "The Terrible, the Beautiful and the Ugly in Chernobyl".

Olena is a Candidate of Sciences, her scientific articles are published in leading international journals, such as "Journal of Environmental Radioactivity" and "Journal of Hazardous Materials". She actively collaborates with international scientific communities, is a member of the European Radioecological Alliance and other scientific organizations.
