Mykhailo Kotsyubynskyi (1864–1913)- Ukrainian writer, master of psychological prose and innovator in literary style. He is known for works that reflect Ukrainian life, culture and problems of social inequality, including "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors", "Fata Morgana" and "Intermezzo". His work combines deep psychologism with symbolism and folklore motifs. Kotsyubynskyi was also an active public figure who contributed to the development of Ukrainian literature and culture.
