Elise White— researcher, author and member of the Humanities Society with a degree from Yale University. White is the author of a number of scholarly publications and three nonfiction books that examine the relationship between culture, language, and technology. Her first book, The Republic of Games (2018), deals with the history of book culture and its future prospects in the digital age.
A second book, You Talkin' to Me?: The Unruly History of New York English (2020), explores the New York accent as a cultural phenomenon that she began to study after encountering it in real life. White's latest work, "A Universal Theory of Internet Cats. How Culture Influences Technology and Vice versa," examines the phenomenon of internet cat popularity and how culture and technology mutually influence each other.
