Eliot Higgins is a British investigative journalist, founder and head of Bellingcat, an international investigative group known for its open source intelligence (OSINT) investigations. Born in the UK, he started his career as a blogger analyzing the conflict in Syria using open sources such as social media and internet videos. His work has earned Bellingcat international recognition, including for investigations into the downing of flight MH17, chemical attacks in Syria and the poisoning of Sergei Skripal. Higgins is the author of We Are Bellingcat, an online investigation of international crimes and the information war with Russia, in which he talks about his team's methods and the importance of investigative journalism.
