Eddie Yaku (1920–2021)– German-Australian writer, public figure and Holocaust survivor. He was born in Germany in a Jewish family and survived the horrors of Nazi concentration camps, including Auschwitz. After the war, he emigrated to Australia, where he devoted his life to educational activities to remind the world about the tragedy of the Holocaust. His autobiographical book, The Happiest Man on Earth, became an international bestseller and shares his story of survival, resilience and forgiveness.
