Jennifer Doudna

Jennifer Doudna — American biochemist, geneticist and winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. She is known for her pioneering research in the field of genome editing and is one of the inventors of CRISPR-Cas9 technology, a method that allows precise changes in DNA and opens up new opportunities in medicine, biotechnology and agriculture. Thanks to this technology, it became possible to treat genetic diseases and create new types of cultivated plants.

In 2020, together with Emmanuelle Charpentier, Doudna received the Nobel Prize for the discovery of CRISPR-Cas9, which became a revolutionary breakthrough in biology. She also actively participates in discussions about the ethical aspects of the use of genetic technologies.
