Christian Gastgeber
Christian Gastgeber studied Classics and Byzantine Studies at the University of Vienna. He received his doctorate and habilitation in Byzantine Studies, and has been a member of the Byzantine Research Institute and Department of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna since 2001, specializing in Greek paleography and diplomacy, as well as textual traditions and reception studies with a focus on humanism. Since his habilitation in 2010, he has been actively involved in international academic teaching and research activities and has led several editorial projects.
