Chris Grimley

Chris Grimley is an architect, designer and author, founder and creative director of SIGNALS, specializing in the development of urban renewal heritage books, architectural and photographic monographs, archival research and exhibition catalogues.

Previously, Chris was the co-founder of the multidisciplinary design studio OverUnder, where he worked on architecture, interior design, master planning, and branding for a variety of clients — from small offices to large institutions.

As an author, he is the co-author of Heroic: Concrete Architecture and the New Boston (2015), Universal Principles of Interior Design (2021), and Imagining the Modern: Architecture and Urbanism of the Pittsburgh Renaissance (2019). His work has been recognized by organizations such as Docomomo and the Boston Preservation Alliance, and has been featured in The New York Review of Books, The New York Times, The Architect's Newspaper, The Boston Globe, and Metropolis.

Chris has also taught at the University of British Columbia, Rhode Island School of Design, Northeastern University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.
