In this collection you will find four dramas by Lesya Ukrainka, which have become canonical works of Ukrainian literature. Each of them has its own unique meanings and occupies a special place in the life and work of the writer.

Lesya Ukrainka's dramatic poem "Cassandra" was considered one of her best works, and she was afraid that she would not be able to create something more powerful.

"Boyarynia" was written in four days, the only work of Lesya Ukrainka, which is based exclusively on Ukrainian history, and was never published during her lifetime.

Lesya Ukrainka reinterpreted the well-known story about Don Juan in "The Master of the Stove", which was perhaps the first attempt in world literature to present the image of the seducer through the eyes of a woman.

"Forest Song" is a gentle drama, the popularity of which surprised even the writer herself. The story, inspired by childhood memories of Volyn forests and myths, contains deep layers, including the motif of "art for art's sake", feminist issues and aspects of sexuality.
