Description

The publication talks about the exhibition "From 1914 till Ukraine", which took place at the Art Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2023, just one year after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The exposition combined the works of the German artist and graphic artist of the 20th century Otto Dix, who participated in the First and Second World Wars, and ten Ukrainian artists who are experiencing the Russian-Ukrainian war. This publication is not a typical exhibition catalogue; it contains curated texts and artworks aimed at reflecting the common search for connections between different experiences and answers to questions about the European future. The exhibition is the result of cooperation between the Ukrainian platform of memory culture "Past / Future / Art" and the Stuttgart Art Museum. The project was implemented with the support of ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) and Rave Stiftung. This publication was prepared as part of the Vidnova Fellowship program.
