The book "Contemporary Sacred Art" is an artistic project beyond time and space, recognizing no limitations of geography, gender or age. It is a synthesis of religious and earthly, spiritual heritage and contemporary art, which rethinks visual traditions in the context of the present. The publication offers a new reading of ancient forms and sacred symbols through the prism of modern culture.

The book presents a wide collection of works by Ukrainian artists, executed in various styles and techniques. Modern artists experiment with materials: along with classical tempera on a board, icons appear on glass, textiles, and in mixed techniques. Spiritual themes and motifs of folk art acquire a new sound thanks to bright coloristic solutions and the author's visual style, which combines the depth of content with aesthetic expressiveness.

The works presented include both icons that carry the traditions of the Ukrainian-Byzantine school and works with innovative iconography. The project brings together both traditionalists and contemporary authors, most of whom are graduates of the Department of Sacred Art of the Lviv National Academy of Arts.

The latest Ukrainian icon painting is an original and significant phenomenon. Its unique style has already formed a separate cultural code, but it still remains little known on the world stage. This book was created precisely to change the situation: to open up to a wide audience the depth, diversity, and power of contemporary sacred art in Ukraine.
