About the publishing house

Kontur Publishing House is an independent Ukrainian publishing house specializing in translations of theoretical works on philosophy, history, culture, and art. Its goal is to make philosophy an integral part of Ukrainian culture and everyday life by publishing books that awaken wonder and open up avenues for finding answers to fundamental questions.

Publication series:

"Lighthouses" is a philosophical classic that serves as a reference point, provokes discussion, and never loses its relevance.

"Horizons" are popular science texts that expand the horizons of knowledge, experience, and interaction with the world.

"Concepts" are books that reflect the complexity and multifaceted nature of the modern philosophical field.

Examples of publications:

"Why Is There a World?" by Jim Holt is a profound exploration of one of humanity's oldest and most puzzling questions: why is there something and not nothing?

Kanten Meyssou's "After Finitude" is a groundbreaking work in modern philosophy that challenges established post-Kantian doctrines.

"Erased Pleasure" by Catherine Malabou is a provocative and insightful exploration of the repression of female pleasure and the clitoris in Western philosophical discourse.

The publishing house supports a new generation of readers who value slow reading, do not shy away from complex texts, and are open to current topics. It invites a community for the exchange of ideas and conversations that generate knowledge.
