This catalog presents a large collection (over 300) of embroideries popular among the Ukrainian elite in the 17th–18th centuries. Particularly common were floral ornaments that adorned everyday items of the Cossack elders: sheets, pillowcases, tablecloths, towels, and clothing.

The introductory article of the publication introduces the color scheme and the most common ornamental schemes of that period. The chronological arrangement of the images allows us to trace the evolution of patterns over the century. The basis of the album was the collection of the Chernihiv Historical Museum named after V. Tarnovsky.
