Oksana Semenyk is a Ukrainian art historian, journalist, researcher, and communicator who actively works to promote Ukrainian art internationally. She holds a master's degree in art history from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and also studied at Rutgers University (USA) and interned at the Zimmerli Museum.
Oksana Semenyk is the author of the popular Twitter account Ukrainian Art History, where she talks in English about Ukrainian artists and their works. She actively advocates for the decolonization of Ukrainian art in international museum collections, in particular, she has achieved the renaming of works by Ukrainian artists that were previously marked as Russian. Oksana is also the author and host of the radio blog "Ukrainian Art in Names" on Radio Kultura, where she reveals to the general public the names of artists who were forgotten or censored by the Soviet authorities.
