Jean-Claude Marcadé is a French literary and art historian known for his research on the Russian and Ukrainian avant-garde, particularly the work of Kazimir Malevich. He is the honorary director of research at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and heads the association of friends of the Belarusian sculptor Antoine Pevzner.
Marcade is the author of numerous works on avant-garde art, including monographs on Malevich and other prominent artists. His research covers a wide range of topics, including symbolism, suprematism, and futurism.
