Solomiya Pavlychko (1958–1999) — Ukrainian literary critic, translator, publicist, Doctor of Philology, researcher of Ukrainian modernism and feminism.
She made a significant contribution to the rethinking of 20th-century Ukrainian literature, in particular to the study of modernist movements. Her most famous work is "Discourse of Modernism in Ukrainian Literature" — became a groundbreaking study that changed the perception of Ukrainian literature in the European context.
Pavlychko also translated English-language literature, popularized the ideas of feminism and gender studies in Ukraine. As the founder and editor of the publishing house "Osnovy", she contributed to the dissemination of world humanitarian thought among Ukrainian readers. Her scientific and journalistic activities left a significant mark on Ukrainian culture and literary studies.
