Roman Yusym is a Kyiv-based icon restorer and photographer, known for his documentary photographs from the 1970s and 1980s. His photographs focus on preserving Kyiv's architectural heritage and depicting the life of Ukrainian villages.
One of his works is the photo album "Kyiv: Podil, Shchekavytsia, Kudryavets, Tatarka. Photo Journey 70s - 80s", which records the old districts of Kyiv that have undergone changes due to development.
His other album, "Memory Response. Photos from Ukraine. 1960-1980," is dedicated to the life of Ukrainian peasants in the 1960s and 1970s, depicting their daily lives and culture.
