Olena Pchilka (real name — Olga Petrivna Drahomanova-Kosach)— Ukrainian writer, ethnographer, translator and public figure, whose creativity and work played an important role in the development of Ukrainian culture and literature. Born in 1849 in Poltava Oblast, Pchilka was an active participant in the national movement and contributed to the popularization of the Ukrainian language and traditions.
She is the author of many literary works that combine national flavor and social themes. As an ethnographer, Olena Pchilka collected and described Ukrainian customs, folklore and rituals, preserving the wealth of cultural heritage for future generations. Also known as Lesya Ukrainka's mother, she raised her daughter in the spirit of love for the Ukrainian word and art.
