His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar (1933–2017) — Ukrainian religious figure, theologian, cardinal of the Catholic Church and Supreme Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (2001–2011).
Born in Lviv, but due to the Soviet occupation, he emigrated with his family. He studied in Europe and the USA, received a theological education, became a priest, and later a bishop and one of the key spiritual leaders of Ukraine. After the restoration of independence, he returned to Ukraine, where he contributed to the development of the UGCC, interreligious dialogue, and the moral revival of society.
Husar was not only a religious mentor, but also a moral authority for the entire country. His wisdom, modesty, and desire to unite people left a deep mark on the social life of Ukraine.
