Lesya Ukrainka

Lesya Ukrainka (real name Larisa Petrivna Kosach)— an outstanding Ukrainian poet, playwright, translator and cultural figure, one of the key figures of Ukrainian literature. She was born on February 25, 1871 in Novohrad-Volynskyi in an intelligent family, which contributed to her early development in literature. Lesya Ukrainka is a representative of neo-romanticism and symbolism, her work covers a wide range of topics: from the struggle for freedom and national revival to deep personal experiences.

Among her most famous works are the poetry collections "On the Wings of Songs", "Thoughts and Dreams", "Reviews", as well as the dramatic works "Forest Song", "Cassandra" and "Boyarian". Her dramas became important achievements of Ukrainian literature, combining deep philosophical content with national themes.

Lesya Ukrainka suffered many difficulties due to a serious chronic disease - bone tuberculosis, but this did not break her spirit. She left a significant legacy that influenced the development of Ukrainian literature and culture.
