Iryna Wilde (real name Daryna Makogon, 1907–1982)- Ukrainian writer, novelist, public figure, representative of the "interwar generation". She was born in Chernivtsi in the family of the famous Ukrainian writer Dmytro Makogon. Her work covers various genres - from short stories, such as "Butterflies on hairpins. It strikes eight. Children of full age" to great novels, in particular "Richinsky Sisters", which is considered one of the most outstanding works of Ukrainian literature of the 20th century. In her works, Iryna Vilde addressed the topics of family relations, women's fate, national consciousness, and social changes. For her literary activity, she received the Shevchenko Prize in 1965.
