Danylo Mykhailenko, known by the call sign "Gal", is a Ukrainian nationalist and volunteer in the AZOV unit. He is a significant figure in the modern history of Ukraine, as he participated in the liberation of Mariupol in 2014 and its defense in 2022, including the defense of Azovstal.
Mykhailenko is the author of the memoirs "Memories of an Azov Soldier. The Spring That Didn't Become "Russian"," where he shares his memories of participating in hostilities, often covering events that, in his opinion, were overlooked by the media or covered biasedly. His stories contain details of the confrontation with pro-Russian militants and military operations in Eastern Ukraine.
