Andriy Hrechylo is a famous Ukrainian historian, heraldist, vexillologist, specialist in symbolism and genealogy. He is a Doctor of Historical Sciences, a leading researcher at the Lviv branch of the M. S. Hrushevsky Institute of Ukrainian Archeography and Source Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Hrechylo is known for his research in the field of state and territorial symbolism, as well as the coats of arms of the Ukrainian nobility. His works played a key role in the creation of modern coats of arms and flags for many cities and regions of Ukraine.
He is the author of numerous scientific publications, including monographs, reference books and articles on heraldry and vexillology. Andriy Hrechylo is actively involved in the development and examination of new symbols for local government, and is also a member of the Ukrainian Heraldic Society, where he is engaged in popularizing knowledge about coats of arms and flags.
